Dental Implants in Sterling Heights, MI

One of the most common issues encountered by dental professionals is tooth loss. In fact, most Americans are missing at least one tooth. There are many different reasons for tooth loss, including aging, decay, trauma, and more.

However, at Dental One Care, we offer several tooth replacement options, including dental implants. Dental implants are one of the most popular tooth replacement solutions because they feel, look, and function the most like natural teeth because the implant itself is inserted into the jawbone.

If you are missing one or more teeth, you may want to consider dental implants to prevent any additional issues.

Single tooth replacement

As you can see in the photo above, it is very common that a tooth becomes so infected that a root canal is no longer an option and the tooth needs to be extracted. A single tooth replacement is a standard procedure that Dr. Farhat has been performing for Sterling Heights patients for years. His experience and expertise will give you comfort and peace of mind with your new tooth implant.

Multiple teeth replacement

A dental implants bridge is an option for patients who have more than one necessary tooth extraction but are not a candidate for a complete set of dentures. Rest assured the staff at Dental One Care are experienced in dental implants and take every measure to preserve as many natural teeth as possible.

SNAP ON DENTURES – REPLACING ALL TEETH

Whether you have existing dentures or are in need of a complete set of dentures, Dr. Farhat and the staff at Dental One Care are here to help you. To stabilize your dentures we will insert implants to secure them in place. We work hard to ensure your comfort and peace of mind as we fit you for your new, beautiful smile.

Dental Implants vs. Dentures

Dental Implants

  • Permanent, designed to last a lifetime with proper care/maintenance
  • Natural look, feel, and functionality
  • Implant is inserted into jawbone and bone heals around implant, locking it in place- which stimulates jawbone and keeps it healthy
  • Can be brushed and flossed like natural teeth

 Dentures

  • May need to be relined or replaced within a few years
  • Natural functionality, but does not look or feel natural
  • Sits on top of gums, does not keep jawbone healthy
  • Fixed dentures can be brushed and flossed like natural teeth, while removable dentures must be placed in denture solution

All-on-4 vs. All-on-6

Both All-on-4 and All-on-6 dental implants are options for replacing a full arch of missing teeth. All-on-4 requires the placement of 4 dental implants in the jaw: 2 in the front and 2 in the back at a 45° angle. All-on-6, on the other hand, requires the replacement of 6 dental implants throughout the jaw. Most patients qualify for All-on-4 unless they have a larger jaw or have significant jawbone loss and need extra stability without undergoing bone grafting.

Financing Options and Insurance Coverage for Dental Implants

Some dental insurance plans will cover a portion of dental implants, while others do not cover anything.Tanya, our head office admin, will work with your provider to determine coverage. If you do not have insurance or your coverage is insufficient, we can structure a financing plan to fit your budget.

Dental Implant FAQs

The team at Dental One Care understands that dental procedures can be confusing, which is why we are here to answer any questions you may have.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are designed to replace one or more missing teeth to restore the appearance and functionality of your smile. The process involves inserting a titanium screw into the jawbone to replace the tooth root. After the implants are placed, the jawbone will heal around the implant, securing it in place. This creates a stable base for a prosthetic tooth to be placed.

How long does recovery take?

The process of getting dental implants may take 6 months or more because it requires several different procedures, with healing time between each one.

Recovery times vary from one patient to another. Most patients experience some minor swelling and discomfort/pain for the first few days. However, this can be relieved with prescription or OTC medications. In most cases, you can return to your normal diet after about a week.

How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants are a permanent solution and, with proper care, should last a lifetime. In some cases, the crown may need to be replaced within 15 to 20 years.

Are dental implants painful?

You may have some minor discomfort immediately following the procedure and during the healing process. However, once you have healed, the implant has become part of your jawbone and you won’t even know it’s there.

Once the implant has been placed and you have healed, it becomes part of you. In fact, you won’t even notice that it’s there. You may have some

Is there a minimum age for dental implants?

At Dental One Care, most of our dental implant patients are older. However, in some cases, a younger patient may have a missing tooth that needs to be replaced. We advise against dental implants for patients under the age of 18, as they are still growing and developing.
