Root Canal

root canal is a procedure in which the pulp is removed due to damage. The pulp is the soft center of the tooth made up of blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. In most cases, root canals are done under local anesthesia. However, at Dental One Care in Sterling, MI, we do offer sedation dentistry for patients who need a root canal but have dental anxiety or special needs.

Sedation Dentistry

Research shows that between 9% to 20% of people in the United States experience anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist. For some, it is more than just nervousness- they are terrified and panic-stricken when they think of going to the dentist. They avoid it for as long as possible and only make an appointment when they have no other choice.

Snap-On Dentures

If you are missing most or all of your teeth due to a dental condition or trauma, you may consider snap-on dentures as a tooth replacement option. Snap-on dentures are a much more versatile and stable option than conventional dentures.

The alignment of your teeth has a major impact on your oral and your overall health. If you have a malocclusion, also known as a “bad bite”, you are at an increased risk of developing cavities, gum disease, and excessive erosion. Orthodontics is the area of dentistry that is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of these issues.

Tooth-colored fillings are light-cured to match your teeth. Amalgam: Silver- colored fillings, more durable material. Together, we can decide what material suits you.

Crowns And Veneers

If you have discolored teeth, too much spacing or too much crowding, you can correct your smile with crowns, veneers or a combination of both. Veneers are as thin as contact lenses that are placed on your teeth. In other circumstances a crown may be more appropriate. We offer porcelain fused to metal crowns, full-gold crowns and all-porcelain crowns. We will discuss your options.

Oral Cancer Screening

ViziLitePlus with T-Blue is a unique, chemically-engineered chemiluminescent light source to improve the identification, evaluation and monitoring of oral mucosal abnormalities in people at increased risk for oral cancer. Most people are aware that smoking and alcohol consumption increase the risk of getting oral cancer. Another risk factor is being sexually active. The Human Papilloma Viruses 16/18 have been linked with oral cancer. The HPV 16/18 has also been linked to cervical cancer. 75% of cases are linked to these factors. However, there are 25% of oral cancers that occur in people who do not smoke and have no other lifestyle risk factors. Virtually everyone is at risk for oral cancer. Therefore, at your initial exam and cleaning you will have the opportunity to have this screening test performed.

Tooth Extraction

Having a tooth removed is never pleasant mentally or physically. However it doesn’t have to be a terrible experience if you have it done with a Dentist you trust. At Dental One Care, Dr. Farhat and his team are not only concerned about your physical well-being but we care about your comfort and peace of mind as well. Rest assured you are in very good hands. Most tooth extractions can be done in our office. This is a relief to most of our patients who don’t want to be referred out to a different office for additional dental work.

Teeth Whitening

We offer a couple of options to brighten your smile. One option is to use an at-home whitening system where we fabricate soft, custom-fitting whitening trays and give you a set of syringes containing whitening material to use daily. Using the material for only 30 minutes per day, you will notice results in as little as 2 weeks. For those of you who want to whiten your teeth quicker, we offer the latest in-office whitening system available with results in about 1-1.5 hours. You can also consider a combination program of both systems for optimal, long-term results.
